News on the VOSPER

Tamiya VOSPER MTB Posted on Feb 01, 2009 11:31:45

So here is the latest news on the Tamiya VOSPER Fast Patrol Boat Perkasa:
I have completed the deck, the cabin and the turbine duct. Now I am looking into putting the RC equipment into the hull.

The first thing is to make the hull waterproof. I am still lacking the points where shafts should exit in the bottom and two holes at the back.

I have also acquired a new motor and a new ESC as I found out the other ones were too heavy.

The new motor is a Robbe roxxy 2220/12 brushless outrunner and the ESC is a Robbe roxxy 918. I picked this ESC as it supports reversion. I find that nice for a boat smiley

Update on steering blocks

Kyosho Mini-Z Ford GT Posted on Feb 01, 2009 11:13:50

Thursday I want racing my mini-Z. This was the first time with the polycarbonate body and the cambered steering blocks. At the same time I tried out some new tyres.

So here is the conclusion:
The tyres were crap. I was spinning and had absolutely no control of the car. When I put the old tyres back on the car raced better than ever smiley

I had put the 2deg camber blocks on and I believe this also made the car better. Some other guys who had upgraded their cars more than me were also racing. I couldn’t keep up on the straight. In the turns it did however seem that my car wasn’t falling behind. I think that is very OK smiley
